Lake Forest City Council To Congratulate Youth Soccer Team
The council will congratulate players/coach Lake Forest-based AYSO Region 85 Extra Boys U9 Team for winning the Western States Championship.
LAKE FOREST, CA — After an undefeated season, the Lake Forest AYSO Region 85 Extra Boys U9 team advanced to the AYSO Western State Championship, held at the Lake Forest Sports Park & Recreation Center in March.
The team, named the “Rough Riders,” won both games at the tournament.
This made them the No. 1 team of the Western States, which includes Alaska, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and California.

The Rough Riders team is made up of the following players:
- Logan Alsing
- Lukas Cerha
- Julian Jauregui
- Jeremy Kang
- John (Alex) Kipper
- Thomas (Tommy) Luce
- Alex Merrill
- Jacob Singelyn
- Samuel (Sammy) Vanderwiel
- Josiah Yanez
The team’s Head Coach is Matt Jauregui and their Assistant Coach is John
Kipper.
