LAKE FOREST, CA —A man was struck by a passing car and died overnight in Lake Forest, according to Orange County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Sgt. Todd Hylton.

Just before 8 p.m., a man was crossing the street in the area of Lake Forest Drive and Canada Road, Hylton told Patch. A smaller, dark vehicle struck the man and left the scene where the pedestrian died, according to reports.

Though there are crosswalks at that intersection, it is not yet known if the pedestrian was in the crosswalk at the time of the crash.

Officers are now seeking any information on the car smaller dark vehicle with front-end damage, according to Hylton.
