Lake Forest Hotel Shooting: Woman Dies
Deputies arrived at the Irvine Spectrum area hotel to find a woman fatally shot.
LAKE FOREST, CA - A woman in her 40s was shot to death in front of a Lake Forest hotel, Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies arrived at the Hilton Garden Inn Irvine Spectrum, at the 23000 block of Lake Center Drive, on a report of a man shooting a woman, according to Carrie Braun of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
Upon their arrival, deputies found the mortally injured woman who suffered multiple gunshot wounds outside of the hotel.

"Deputies detained the man, who is in his 60s," Braun said. They also found a weapon at the scene.
The victim was rushed to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead, Braun said.

The man, who complained of an unspecified health issue, was also taken to an area hospital, she said. He was undergoing medical treatment as of this report.
Deputies do not know what relationship, if any, the two had or what prompted the shooting, Braun said.
The identification of the victim is pending notification of next of kin, according to the Orange County Coroner's office.
