Lake Forest House Erupts In Flames, 10 Children Displaced By Fire

Flames raced through a Lake Forest one-story rendering it unlivable. 18 people (8 adults, 10 children) lost their home, but not their lives.

LAKE FOREST, CA — A home on Penfield Street was a total loss after a destructive fire ripped through the structure Wednesday night, Orange County Fire Authority reported. Authorities stated that 10 children and eight adults were displaced after the home was completely gutted.

OCFA engines responded to the one story house at approximately 8:30 p.m. They found flames erupting from the fully involved structure, with "heavy fire showing" upon OCFA's arrival. The residents self evacuated, and no one was injured during the fire fight.

Crews extinguished the house fire in less than 20 minutes, the OCFA said.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
