Lake Forest Jewelry Store Donating 100% of Watch Battery Proceeds to South County Outreach

The first watch batteries have already been replaced by the team at The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest, which starts the fundraising for South County Outreach’s food pantry. “This is something we do every year,” says Jack Levenson, co-owner, “It’s important to us to know that everyone in our community has enough to eat throughout the holiday season.”

During the Batteries for Birds campaign, The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest donates 100% of watch battery sales to South County Outreach. The funds are used to purchase holiday turkeys for Orange County families in need. Batteries for Birds began on November 14th and will continue through December 13th.

“It’s a good idea to have your watch battery replaced annually,” says Christine Anzell, co-owner of The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest. She added that watch batteries generally cost around $10, and the installation can be done while you wait. No appointment is necessary. “We’ve found our customers are always looking for ways they can help out,” Anzell said. “Last year we raised over $2,100, and this year we hope to top that amount.”
