Lake Forest Man Charged With Hit-And-Run That Killed 63-Year-Old
The 25-year-old was charged with felony hit-and-run with permanent and serious injury this week.
LAKE FOREST, CA — A 25-year-old man was charged Tuesday with a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in Irvine.
Felix Gerardo Murillo was charged with felony hit-and-run with permanent and serious injury.
The crash happened at 8:55 p.m. last Wednesday at Alton Parkway and Irvine Center Drive.

The pedestrian was rushed to a hospital and pronounced dead. He was identified as 63-year-old Steven Craig Cox of Las Vegas, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
After Irvine police appealed to the public for help finding a suspect, a tip came in that led investigators to Murillo. A resident reported a black Ford SUV with front-end damage parked near Barranca Parkway and state Route 133, police said.

Murillo was arrested Friday afternoon.
