Lake Forest Mayor's New Year's Message: Video
Mayor Scott Voigts speaks to his constituents on the coming New Year, 2022, and introduces the new Mayor.
LAKE FOREST, CA — Mayor Scott Voigts spoke to the people he represents, Thursday, discussing his civic pride in Lake Forest's accomplishments in 2021 before he takes off his mayoral hat.
"What a wonderful year we've had this year in Lake Forest," Voigts said in the video release. Voigts lauded the city's first-ever fireworks display to the lighting of the Lake Forest Christmas Tree at the city center.
He also introduced and thanked Mayor Pro Tem, Robert Pequeno, as the city's next mayor.

"We are financially strong, we have a bright future, and we have so much going for us," Voigts said. "I want to wish you all a healthy, happy and prosperous new year."
Lake Forest's city hall is closed Friday, the city reported, in observance of New Year's Day.
