Lake Forest Native Joins Anaheim Ducks

Ryan Lasch comes home to Orange County to play professional ice hockey.

Lake Forest native Ryan Lasch signed a two-year contract Thursday with the Anaheim Ducks, Orange County's professional ice hockey team.

Lasch, 25, who attended high school at Trabuco Hills High School, played four years of college hockey at St. Cloud State.

"It's pretty awesome. It still hasn't sunk in yet," Lasch said in a statement on the Ducks' website. "It's definitely a team growing up that I always watched and always liked, and to be able to have a chance to play with them is pretty special to me."

According to the Ducks' website, Lasch was born in Lake Forest and is the first player from Orange County to join the Ducks organization.

After college, he played a season in Sweden before last season.
