Lake Forest Senior Apartments 'The Meadows' Opens Waitlist
An active adult community with 65 units has opened up its waitlist for active adults 62 years old and up.

LAKE FOREST, CA — The Meadows residential community has opened up a waiting list for its 65 senior affordable apartment units, the city announced. The senior complex is slated to be completed in the Fall of 2024.
It will include a barbecue pavilion, community room with kitchen, on-site laundry and leasing, pickleball court, outdoor open space, and proximity to the community park. The unit includes a refrigerator, central heating, and air conditioning.
"The apartments are affordable and have income and occupancy restrictions," a spokesperson for the city said. "Specific apartments and apartment styles cannot be guaranteed.

"The Meadows Seniors will provide an affordable, safe, and high quality living environment for senior residents to enjoy proximity to family and amenities in the beautiful City of Lake Forest," the website says. "The Meadows Seniors Apartments will be restricted to people 62 years or over. To qualify, residents must meet annual income qualification requirements based upon a percentage of the Orange County Median Income."
At The Meadows, one- and two-bedroom units are available; however, according to the apartments' waitlist forms, rents will vary based on the area median income allowed.

Income restrictions vary; however, the least area median income for one person in a bedroom at 50 percent AMI is $50,250, with rent of $1,345 per month, and for a two-person unit is $34,440, with rent of $969 per month. According to lease information, the maximum AMI allowed based on the household size is $60,300 for one person and $68,880 for two people.
The Lake Forest community covers approximately 126 acres south of Bake Parkway and east of Rancho Parkway. It includes 541 single-family homes, seven parks open to the public, a residents’ pool/recreation complex, a trail parallel to the Serrano Creek Trail open to the public, and a habitat restoration area.
