BrightStar Lake Forest Senior Worker Who Helps Seniors, Celebrates 80th Birthday

LAKE FOREST, CA —Happy Birthday to Swapana Dutta Sarma, "Babli” the Operations Manager of BrightStar Care Lake Forest.

Sarma just celebrated her 80th birthday and is still going strong running BrightStar Care's internal operations, a BrightStar Care spokesperson says.

The BrightStar Care Lake Forest is a home care agency that provides medical and non-medical in-home care services to clients throughout Orange County. Sarma came to BrightStar after growing up in Calcutta, India. She moved to the United States and ultimately Orange County as an adult to seek a career in health care.

Even at age 80, Sarma works 7-days a week and manages more than 73 cases at a time ensuring there's a caregiver or nurse assigned to each patient.

"She refuses to retire because she loves the healthcare industry and serving to those in need of care in her community," a spokesperson for the care center said. "Her colleagues call her the heart and soul of the company."

The majority of BrightStar Care's patients are seniors who rely on in-home care services to maintain their independence at home and without BrightStar Care they'd have to seek care at a nursing facility/hospital.

As a senior herself, Sarma works to ensure all BrightStar Care's patients are taken care of.
