Bank Robbery Suspect Sought In Lake Forest

This bank robbery suspect was seen entering and exiting the Lake Forest Stater Bros. supermarket on Monday.

LAKE FOREST, CA — He entered the Lake Forest Stater Brothers Market, grabbed a cart and used a cane. Then, he robbed the bank inside the store. Now, Orange County sheriff's investigators asked for the public's help in apprehending the suspect.

The stickup happened about 7 p.m. Monday at a Wells Fargo branch in a Stater Bros. store at 22351 El Toro Road, OCSD spokesperson Carrie Braun said.

The bandit -- who used a cane and had a black sling on his left arm -- demanded money from the tellers and threatened them if they didn't give him cash, then fled with a "large sum of money inside of a cardboard box," according to a sheriff's statement.
