LAKE FOREST, CA — Lake Forest City Council member Benjamin Yu was arrested Monday for the second time on suspicion of domestic violence.

This marks the second time Yu has faced an arrest stemming from domestic violence charges, the report said. He was originally arrested in 2023.

Orange County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Fremont Street in the City of Lake Forest in response to a domestic dispute, according to a previous Patch report.

Deputies found a woman with a contusion on her head soon after arriving, The Orange County Register reported. She was hospitalized with minor injuries.

The suspect, identified as the 41-year-old council member, was booked on suspicion of domesetic violence and violation of an active restraining order, Orange County Sheriff's Sgt. Frank Gonzalez told the newspaper.
