When officers got to the scene, they were told that the person who called in the report came to check on his friend after he failed to show up for work, Irvine Police Department Spokesperson Karie Davies said in a statement.
"[The reporting party] encountered [Tyler] Shipper, who appeared disheveled and would not let him inside," Davies said. "Officers entered the residence and located a deceased male, identified as 69-year-old Bruce Shipper."
