Man Accused Of Killing Lake Forest Resident On New Year's

A 25-year-old man was behind bars Monday on suspicion of killing a fellow Lake Forest resident in an alley on New Year's Day.

LAKE FOREST, CA — A 25-year-old man was behind bars Monday on suspicion of killing a fellow Lake Forest resident in an alley on New Year's Day.

Christian Vidal DeLeon was arrested Friday and booked on suspicion of fatally shooting 22-year-old Nathan Corado, said Carrie Braun, a spokeswoman for the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

DeLeon was being held on $1 million bail.

Corado was shot about 1:25 a.m. Jan. 1 near Second Street and Village Drive in Lake Forest and pronounced dead at an area hospital a short time later.

Investigators would not disclose the possible motive or relationship between the two, Braun said.
