Man Charged With Killing Irvine Girlfriend, Stuffing Body In Trash Can

A 49-year-old Costa Mesa man was charged Thursday with murdering his girlfriend and throwing her body in a garbage can, court records show.

COSTA MESA, CA — A 49-year-old man was charged Thursday with killing his girlfriend and throwing her body in a trash can in Costa Mesa.

Costa Mesa resident Daniel Allen Aldrich was charged with murder, with a sentencing enhancement for personal use of a knife.

Aldrich is accused of murdering 38-year-old Julie Anne Sanetra, of Irvine.

Police were sent just before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday to the backyard of a home in the 1900 block of Maple Avenue, where Sanetra's body was discovered in one of the garbage cans, police said.

Aldrich was arrested Tuesday evening at a family member's house in Glendale, police said.

Aldrich did not enter a plea at his arraignment Thursday in the jail courtroom. His arraignment was rescheduled for Nov. 19 in the West Justice Center in Westminster.
