Man Crashes Into South OC Embankment While Bicycling

A man was found at the bottom of an embankment in Irvine after he had fallen off of his bike, authorities said.

IRVINE, CA — Orange County firefighters were hard at work Tuesday when a man was injured after falling into an embankment in Irvine, authorities said.

Firefighters and police were notified of the crash in the area of San Diego Creek Bikeway and Alton shortly after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Upon arriving, crews found the man down an embankment full of rocks and initiated paramedic care.

A rope system was used to hoist the man up to safety, and firefighter paramedics with the Orange County Fire Authority continued to provide care while he was taken to a local hospital.

The status of the injured man was not immediately known.
