Man Dies, Woman Seriously Injured In Dramatic Jamboree Crash
A man died at the scene and a woman has been hospitalized in serious condition when their Miata slammed into a pole and flipped over.

A car crashed into concrete light pole and then flipped over today, killing one person and leaving another hospitalized in serious condition, police reported.
The single-car crash happened on southbound Jamboree Road about 12:20 p.m., said Jennifer Manzella of the Newport Beach Police Department. All southbound lanes of Jamboree were closed at Santa Barbara Drive.
The silver Mazda Miata was carrying two people, one of whom was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was described only as male.

A female patient, who also was not immediately identified, suffered serious injuries in the crash, Manzella said.
