Man In His 70s Killed While Crossing Street In Irvine: Police

The crash happened at an unmarked crosswalk at the intersection of Meadowood and Yale Avenue at around 10 a.m. Monday.

IRVINE, CA — A 78-year-old man was killed in a traffic crash in Irvine Tuesday.

According to a preliminary investigation, a Chevrolet pickup hit a pedestrian — identified as pedestrian Jinshui Li, of Irvine — who was crossing the street in an unmarked crosswalk at the intersection of Meadowood and Yale Avenue at around 10 a.m. Monday.

Li was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries, according to the Irvine Police Department.

No information was immediately released regarding the driver who struck him.
