Man On Scooter Fatally Struck By Van In Irvine
Orange County authorities said the man sustained "serious injuries" from the crash before he died at an area hospital.
IRVINE, CA — A 33-year-old man riding a scooter was struck and killed by a van in Irvine.
Karl Ian Vito Zamoranos of Carson was struck by the Toyota Sienna about 10:30 p.m. Sunday at Michelson Drive and MacArthur Boulevard, police said.
The van's driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, who determined the driver was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs, police said.

The victim suffered "serious injuries" as a result of the crash and was moved to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries.
IPD’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating the cause of this collision.
