The City of Lake Forest Community Services Department is proud to announce they have nominated and awarded Margie Matsil a Volunteer Merit Award. The award is part of the California Parks & Recreation Society (CPRS) Award program. Margie Matsil was nominated by the Community Services Department as part of her decade long efforts and service with the Kiwanis of Lake Forest, 4th of July Parade Committee, Chamber of Commerce and a plethora of other volunteer service. She will receive the award at this year’s CPRS District 10 Awards and Installation Banquet taking place on Thursday April 16th at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Located in Mission Viejo (24932 Veterans Way). Cocktail hour begins at 5:30 pm and dinner starts at 6:30 pm. On a personal level I have worked alongside Margie many times. She can help organize and plan but doesn’t stop there - she is out with the troops helping at a garage sale or standing in front of Ralph’s collecting food. She is probably the #1 volunteer in the City and certainly deserves this recognition.
