Mayor M.I.A.

Mayor Hamilton misses another meeting.

This week Andy Hamilton missed another Council meeting, his second since being Mayor. In the two years he’s been on Council, Hamilton has missed more meetings or arrived substantially late than everyone else combined. Contrast that with Councilman Nick who has been on the Council for nearly 4 years and never missed a meeting.

In addition to missing Council meetings, Hamilton has become notorious for missing City events, including important workshops, events, and ribbon cuttings. He was conspicuously missing from the Relay for Life last week, only one in a long list of major events he’s missed.

Interestingly enough, during Hamilton’s absence on Tuesday night, there wasn’t a single “time out” used to silence the audience. Moreover, not a single speaker got cut off in mid-sentence and there was no acrimony among the Council members.
