The Mayor's Minute

Tune in every week.

Our latest innovation to try to involve more people in what's going on is the creation of "The Mayor's Minute" a brief 60 to 90 second video talking about current and future events. The video can be found on the city website, on the city's FB page (Click Here), and the city's UTube folder (Click Here). So far we have two episodes completed.

Some of our other improvements are -

  • We now broadcast live on Facebook so that people can comment and also ask questions/make comments during the meeting. (Click Here). Our first broadcast was Feb 6.
  • Creation of Mayor’s Councils, starting with separate meetings with HOA leaders (March 20) and Business executives (April 25).
  • Creation of the Traffic and Parking Commission.

In the near future we will

  • Create a “Pop-up City Hall” where staff and Council members will be available at community events. Residents will be able to get literature, talk with staff/council, and submit questions/comments. The first one is scheduled for April 14.
  • Create a new mobile app that will revolutionize communication between the City and residents. I hope to see a beta working version by the summer and roll out before the end of the year.

These are a lot of changes and it couldn’t have been done without the help of our Management Services (Brett Channing, Jonathan Volzke, Skylar Hunter) and the City Manager (Debra Rose).
