National Retailer To Close Spectrum Mall Location: Report

A clothing and accessories retailer with stores in 45 states is reportedly planning to shutter all locations and liquidate its inventory.

LAKE FOREST, CA — A popular national clothing chain with more than 450 stores — including dozens of California locations — is planning to close after a quarter-century in business.

From jewelry to bridal and in-season clothing, the mall-based boutique chain Francesca's is liquidating its inventory, meaning shoppers can expect close-out sales to start soon.

"We are liquidating our inventory and closing soon,” a Francesca's customer service representative told Women's Wear Daily.

Founded in 1999, Houston-based Francesca's opened stores in 45 states, employing more than 3,400 people.

But the news of the closing follows a 2020 bankruptcy filing. At the time, Francesca's had about 700 stores and announced 140 locations would close, USA Today reported.

Francesca's has not publicly confirmed the closing. However, its online store is advertising sales of 20 percent off.

The list of Francesca’s stores in Orange County includes:

  • Pacific City: 21028 Pacific Coast Hwy E116, Huntington Beach
  • Irvine Spectrum Center: 752 Spectrum Center Dr, Irvine
  • The Shops at Mission Viejo: 906 Shops At Mission Viejo #906-A, Mission Viejo
