Neil Patrick Harris Defends 'OC Rainbow Boy' From James Woods Tirade
Actors Neil Patrick Harris and James Woods verbally spar via Twitter over one Orange County family who is "raising their rainbow" son.

LAKE FOREST, CA — It started simply. An Orange County mom blogger and author, Lori Duron, took her son and family to his first pride parade in Santa Ana this June.
"That was one of the best days of my life," her son C.J. said after the event, as she reported on her blog.
According to Duran, most kids would say that after a trip to the amusement park, but C.J.'s comments came after his first Pride parade.

C.J.'s sign read: "Be Gay. Be a lesbian. Be gender creative. Be transgender. Be straight. Be yourself. Be awesome."
And what parent wouldn't be proud of that? Apparently, James Woods, a 70-year-old actor with a bit of an axe to grind, according to his Twitter posts.

Woods, who may or may not have attempted to portray his wit through sarcasm, which rarely translates over Twitter, gained further notoriety when noticed by fellow actor and peer, Neil Patrick Harris.
This is sweet. Wait until this poor kid grows up, realizes what you've done, and stuffs both of you dismembered into a freezer in the garage pic.twitter.com/1k3ITApFsF

Woods, a noted political conservative as can be seen on his Twitter feed, is opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to the outspoken Harris.
Harris responded to Woods in outraged tone, no attempt at translation necessary.
Utterly ignorant and classless, Mr. Woods. I'm friends with this family. You know not of what you speak, and should be ashamed of yourself. https://t.co/ZrbtZH49sp

According to a response in the Huffington Post, Duron was nonplussed by the back and forth between movie stars.
“The festival was everything C.J. hoped it would be and then some,” she wrote. “He’s used to getting stares and whispers when we’re out in public. He’s not used to getting the smiles, hugs and encouragement he received at Pride.”
In her blog, she stated that her "sweet, fabulous, rainbow boy" received more compliments than ever at the Pride festivities in Santa Ana.
As for Patch, we are hoping to see both C.J. and his mom on The Ellen Show soon.
