Obituary: Steven David Muller, 29

Services for Steven David Muller, 29, who , will be held this week in his native Iowa.

After his death, Muller's fiancée, Amanda Hunter, at the site of the accident. Local residents also contributed, adding flowers and balloons to the memorial site.

Muller worked for the Irvine-based clothing company LRG, Lifted Research Group, as a graphic designer.

Steven David Muller, 29, of Lake Forest, California, formerly of Clear Lake, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle/car accident in Lake Forest, California.

Steven was born June 8, 1983, in Algona, Iowa, the son of Steven L. and Kathy N. (Ostrander) Muller. He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 2001, N.I.A.C.C. in 2003, and the University of Northern Iowa in 2005, summa cum laude, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.

While attending the University of Northern Iowa, he received several awards for his exhibited artwork. He continued his education at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, working on his Master of Fine Arts. He was happily employed as a graphic designer by L.R.G. of Irvine, California, where he was loved, and respected.

Steven enjoyed bicycling, skating, hiking, and being with his family; his greatest passion was his artwork. His philosophy in life was that everyone should be treated fairly, maintaining personal responsibility, in return.

Steven is survived by his parents Steve and Kathy Muller, Clear Lake, Iowa; sister Alyssa Muller, Clear Lake, Iowa; fiancée Amanda Hunter, Lake Forest, California; maternal grandmother Alma Ostrander, Clear Lake, Iowa; paternal grandparents Lyle and Joyce Muller, Emmetsburg, Iowa; aunts and uncles Nancy and Jack Brown, Clear Lake, Iowa, Kathy and Arnie Heng, Cylinder, Iowa and Denny Muller, Bedford, Texas and many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, David L. Ostrander.

A Celebration of Life Service for Steven David will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday August 22, 2012 at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church, Clear Lake, Iowa, with Rev. Bernie Colorado officiating. Visitation will be 5:00p.m.-8:30p.m. Tues at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, and also one hour before the service at the church.

Following the service he will be cremated and inurnment will take place later in the Clear Lake Cemetery.
