OC Park Ranks Best In CA; 4th Overall Best In Nation

IRVINE, CA — Southern California best big-city park system can be found in Orange County, nonprofit Trust for Public Land announced this week.
According to the nonprofit's annual ParkScore index, Irvine ranked 4th best park nationally, ahead of Santa Clarita (49th), Long Beach (61st), Anaheim (tied for 76th), Riverside (tied for 76th), Los Angeles (88th) and Santa Ana (93rd).
Irvine's 4th place ranking matches its 2023 finish, and the city is poised for improvement as it makes progress toward its "Great Park" vision, the report said. The city joins Washington D.C., Minneapolis, MN and St. Paul, MN on the list.

According to the report, 93 percent of Irvine residents currently live within a 10-minute walk of a park, far ahead of ParkScore’s 76 percent national average.
Irvine’s park investment of $643 per person is the highest among all ParkScore cities, far exceeding the national ParkScore average of $124. Among area cities, only Santa Clarita joined Irvine in investing more than the national average.
