Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Teen Driver

A teenage driver fatally struck a 66-year-old pedestrian in Fullerton. He was later identified.

FULLERTON, CA - A teenage driver fatally struck a 66-year-old pedestrian who was not in a crosswalk, late Thursday, cops said.

The teenage girl remained at the scene until police arrived.

Anthony Garcia, a man with no known address, was not in a crosswalk when he was struck by the teenager in a 2008 Toyota Camry. Garcia was walking south across the 1800 block of West Orangethorpe Avenue just after 10 p.m. Thursday, Fullerton police Sgt. Jon Radus said.

Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 17-year-old driver cooperated with officers, according to Radus, who said investigators do not suspect alcohol or drugs played a part in the collision.
