Pedestrian Killed by Amtrak Train in Lake Forest
A pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train Monday in Lake Forest, and passengers had to be placed on another train.

LAKE FOREST, CA - A pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Lake Forest this afternoon, authorities said.
The victim was struck just before 6 p.m. in the area of Bake Parkway and Jeronimo Road and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Larry Kurtz.
The age and gender of the pedestrian could not immediately be determined because of the condition of the body, Kurtz said.

The Orange County Sheriff's Department was investigating the crash.
The train was the Pacific Surfliner out of San Diego, bound for Goleta, according to The Orange County Register, which reported that passengers were put on another train.
