Person Plummets To Death From Jeffrey Overpass At 5 Freeway

IRVINE, CA — A person suffered fatal injuries Thursday evening after plummeting from a freeway overpass in Irvine. It is unclear as of this report if that person jumped or fell, however California Highway Patrol was quickly on scene.

The fatality was reported about just before 9:15 p.m. on the northbound side of the freeway at Jeffrey Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Drivers veered around the body that was laying face up near the center divider, the CHP incident log reported.

The Orange County coroner's office was summoned to the scene. It is unknown as of this report if the identity of that individual is currently known to officials.
