The Record Is Broken! Batteries for Birds Fundraiser Surpasses Goal!

It’s been a busy four weeks at The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest. With the Batteries for Birds fundraising campaign in full swing, the staff of Orange County’s most unique jewelry store had a lot to do. Upon hearing that 100% of all watch battery revenues were going to be donated to South County Outreach to help provide local needed families with holiday food, lots and lots of people decided it was time for a new watch battery.

“We’re thrilled to say that we replaced more than 200 watch batteries,” said Christine Anzell, co-owner of The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest. “That means we raised $2,250 to help provide turkeys for holiday dinners.”

“That’s a 6 percent increase over last year’s Batteries for Birds campaign,” Jack Levenson, co-owner, said. ”We couldn’t have done this without our amazing customers. People came in who didn’t even need a watch battery - they just wanted to do their part to help out. We’re firm believers in giving back to the community that supports us, and we want to say a special thank you to everyone who helped make this possible.”
