Reports: Cagley Will Not Seek Re-Election

Why run if you don't intend to stay?

After a pair of contentious recall efforts that culminated in an election January 2nd rumor has it that recently elected Lake Forest Councilman, Tom Cagley, is not planning on running for re-election. Cagley took the place of Councilman Andrew Hamilton who was recalled at the beginning of the year. Based on the election calendar, it was expected that Cagley would run in the November general election to retain his seat. Now sources familiar with Cagley are reporting that he will not be seeking re-election. This leaves Lake Forest residents with more questions about who is behind these recall efforts, and who should step in to fill the void of leadership left in our city. Sitting Councilman Dwight Robinson has also announced that he will not be seeking re-election at this end of this term as well. With the newly drawn districts in play, the second election of 2018 in Lake Forest is looking like it may be even more exciting than the first.
