Residents Urged To Attend OC Fire Watch Symposium: What To Know

Orange County Fire Watch will host its 2024 Fire Watch Symposium on Saturday, May 4, and residents can stream the event online.

IRVINE, CA — It's time to get wildfire-prepared, Orange County. The annual 2024 Fire Watch Symposium will take place Saturday, May 4, aiming to educate the community and reduce the number of wildfires in the region.

The event is held annually by Orange County Fire Watch with the goal of protecting residences from potential wildfires. Residents will also learn about steps being taken by local agencies and organizations to prepare for and mitigate negative impacts caused by fires.

During the program, residents will hear presentations from fire prevention specialists, wildland resource planners, park rangers and fire agency representatives, including those from OC Parks and Irvine Ranch Conservancy.

The event will also feature a keynote presentation from members of the Community Association of Rancho, an organization consisting of residents of the HOAs located in Rancho Santa Margarita and nearby cities.

The 2024 Fire Watch Symposium takes place Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m. to noon at Quail Hill Community Center, 39 Shady Canyon Drive, with refreshments being served from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
