Ron Rivera to go to Laguna Niguel

Ron Rivera, our Senior Recreation Supervisor, announced that he will be leaving the City and going to Laguna Niguel where he will be the Recreation Manager. Ron is one of our very top people in the City – dedicated, hard-working, and competent. He’s one of the reasons the Sports Park programs and the 4th of July Parade are top notch. His leaving is a major blow to the City, but everyone who knows him will be happy for his advancement and will wish him well in his new job. Laguna Niguel is lucky to get him and we will suffer without him.

Over the years I have been critical of the performance of many people at the City, but Ron has never been one of them. He’s never failed to take on a task and do his very best, which has been excellent. Ron not only performs well, he gets others to perform well, and still manages to be liked.
