Sex Offender Behind Bars After Teen Reports Rape In South OC

IRVINE, CA — A registered sex offender was behind bars Thursday on suspicion of molesting a 13-year-old girl in Irvine.

Enrique Flores Martinez, 60, of Santa Ana, was booked on suspicion of lewd acts with the girl, dating back to 2021, according to Irvine police. He was arrested Wednesday, police said.

Police were alerted Monday that a seventh grader reported the suspect, who knows the accuser, touched her inappropriately on several occasions, police said. She alleged the incidents occurred twice in 2021 in Irvine, another time in Santa Ana this summer and then most recently Sunday in Irvine, police said.

Martinez pleaded guilty to sexual battery and false imprisonment in April 2000, according to court records. He was sentenced to three years in prison, according to court records.
