Shakespeare Abridged
The latest offering from Modjeska Playhouse takes a fun look at Shakespeare's plays.
If you want to cram for a test on Shakespeare, “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged” may not be the best way to spend your time. But if you’re looking for a fun way to spend an evening, go to the Modjeska Playhouse and see their latest offering.
In about an hour and a half, the performance covers more than 30 of Shakespeare’s plays, although the emphasis falls heavily on such popular favorites as Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, and MacBeth.
This rendition combines broad humor with lots of wit and contemporary references. The biggest treat comes after the interval, but I don’t want to reveal it beforehand.

The play runs Thursday through Saturday at 8 pm and Sunday at 5 pm. It ends on August 29. Their next play, “Gods of Carnage” will begin September 24. For more information, click here.
