Sunny Weather Forecast for Lake Forest 4th of July

The holiday weekend is going to be hotter than originally expected.

Whether you plan on , sunscreen will be a necessity this holiday weekend.

Temperatures in Lake Forest will remain in the mid- to high 80s through the weekend, with ample sun for Independence DayĀ revelers.

"A strong ridge of high pressure will build over Southern California the next few days, spreading much warmer air across Southern California,"Ā according to a special weather statement issued by the National Weather Service early Thursday morning. "As a result, hot conditions will develop across the region for this Fourth of July weekend."

In Lake Forest, the temperature Friday will nearĀ 85 degrees, complemented by mild winds of 5 to 10 mph. It could hit 87 degrees Saturday, which, like Friday, is forecast to be sunny and hot.

The weekend's hottest temperatures will hit Lake Forest on Sunday, when the heat will near 89 degrees. Cooling slightly on the 4th, Independence Day will be mostly sunny, with a high near 87 degrees.

The night of July 4 will be partly cloudy, with a low of about 67 degrees.

Inland towns such as Lake Forest will bear the brunt of the temperature increase, according to the report.

"Although temperatures along the coast will warm a few degrees above normal, inland temperatures will see the greatest increase," the report says.

Away from the coast, towns will be about 5 to 15 degrees warmer during the Independence Day weekend thanĀ originally expected.

"For the latter part of the weekend, subtropical moisture will start to move into Southern California, Ā making it feel even more hot and muggy for Sunday and Monday," according to the NWS. "The threat of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms will also develop these days over the mountains and deserts."

Desert areas could see triple-digit temperatures during the weekend, as could aĀ few locations in the Inland Empire, according to the report.

"Even mountain locations will be on the warm side, with temperatures in the 90s," the NWS predicts.

Weather forecasters advise taking plenty of water and sunscreen along on holiday adventures in Southern California, as well as dressing in cool clothing and staying out of the sun during the hottest parts of the day.
