LAKE FOREST, CA — Two armed robbers wreaked havoc with an airsoft gun across Lake Forest over the weekend until they were ultimately arrested, authorities reported Monday. The incidents were connected, an Orange County Sheriff's Department spokesperson told Patch.

The first robbery was reported at 8:57 p.m. Sunday in the 23000 block of Orange Avenue, Orange County sheriff's Lt. Todd Russ said. The victim claimed that "a man held him at gunpoint outside an apartment complex and took his cellphone and wallet," Russ said.

Just a short time later, another armed robbery was reported at just before 9:15 p.m. by a man who claimed two men tried to rob him at El Toro Road and Muirlands Boulevard and that a handgun was brandished, the lieutenant said.
