SVUSD Board Members Support El Toro Exchange/KindNest Foundation
Board members take time to support El Toro High School Based Club during December theme opening "Someone Loved"
The El Toro Exchange Club/KindNest Foundation had its monthly opening on December 15th with the theme of “someone loved”. In support of the clubs December opening, was the SVUSD Board members, Doloris Winchell, Suzie Swartz and Amanda Morrell. This visit was especially important for the club members who had worked diligently and tirelessly to prepare for this grand event. The students had chosen to the theme “Someone Loved” for several reasons, one was to honor ETHS’ principal Mrs. Terri Gusiff’s late mother, Mrs. Strombotne, who was an enthusiastic supporter of the school based club and who will be missed by all members. Another reason was due to holiday spirit and finally to the Board members, who donated, supported and participated during the opening throughout the years. Mrs. Winchell, stated “it is my pleasure to support the club which does such important work enabling students to help students develop compassion for others.” The board members were able to join club member and help prepare for the opening and assist students with choosing items to collect. Dani Azua, the club president stated “it was truly moving to have the board members actually take time out of their day to come and help us prepare and shop with the students. I know how busy they must be and to give us their time like that makes me feel like we are making a difference and it shows”.
The club donated all the left over items to the Vietnam Veteran’s of America and to the outreach program at Los Alisos. Currently the club is are accepting donations for the February opening with the theme “sharing is caring.” For further information please visit the facebook page @https://m.facebook.com/eltoroexchange/
