T-Bone Crash Kills 1 Woman In Irvine, Injures 2 Others

IRVINE, CA — A woman was killed in a broadside crash in Irvine Saturday, June 3.

The crash was reported at 5:51 p.m. on Irvine Boulevard east of Sand Canyon Avenue, authorities said.

“When officers arrived on scene, a white BMW 430i and a gold Lexus RX300 were involved in a broadside collision,” Irvine Police Sgt. Karie Davies told City News Service. “The Lexus was occupied by the driver only and the BMW was occupied by the driver and four passengers.”

The 47-year-old woman seated in the backseat of the BMW was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead, Davies said. Her identity was not immediately released.

Two others riders in the BMW were taken to hospitals with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, she said.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, authorities said, and neither drugs or alcohol appeared to be a factor in the crash.
