Taco Bell Brings Back 'Grilled Cheese Dipping Taco' With New Protein
Taco Bell announced plans to bring its Grilled Cheese Dipping Taco to locations nationwide Thursday.

IRVINE, CA — Taco Bell announced plans Thursday to bring its Grilled Cheese Dipping Taco to locations nationwide after a test run last year, along with a "brand-new protein offering," Press News Wire reported.
According to a news release issued by Taco Bell on Thursday, the company plans on bringing slow-braised shredded beef to the menu for the very first time.
“Taco Bell has long been known for its iconic seasoned beef and this is the first time the brand is offering shredded beef on its menu nationally, after nearly two years of perfecting the recipe,” reads a press release issued by Taco Bell on Thursday. “The shredded beef is slow-braised in a blend of spices, making it the ideal centerpiece of the Grilled Cheese Dipping Taco.”

Customers who want to try the new protein inside Taco Bell's other items, such as a burrito or a Chalupa, are permitted to place those orders while supplies of the slow-braised beef last.
In addition to slow-braised beef, Taco Bell's Grilled Cheese Dipping Taco — inspired by birria-style tacos found in Mexico and the U.S. — will be filled with a melted bled of cheddar, mozzarella and pepper jack cheeses.

More cheese is grilled onto the outside of the taco, which is then served with two dipping sauces: a nacho cheese sauce and a "zesty red sauce," according to the release.
The item will be available at participating Taco Bell locations nationwide beginning Aug. 3, for a limited time.
