Teenage Pedestrian Injured; Struck While Not In Crosswalk: COPS

A 15-year-old boy was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle. He was not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision, cops say.

FULLERTON, CA — A teenage boy was struck and critically injured while crossing a street while not in a crosswalk, cops say. The crash was reported about 1 a.m. in the 900 block of N. Placentia Avenue, said Fullerton police Sgt. Jon Radus. The boy was taken to an area hospital, and his current condition was not known, according to reports.

"Preliminary investigation reveals that a black 2017 Nissan Sentra driven by a 45-year-old female was traveling southbound on Placentia Avenue just north of Nutwood Avenue when it struck the ... pedestrian, who was crossing eastbound across Placentia Avenue," Radus said.

The motorist remained at the scene and was interviewed by police. Her name was not released.
