The South Coast Chapter of MOAA was fortunate to have Senior Agent Ryan Meyers of the Border Patrol present at the April Meeting. Two of our newest members had an inaugural introduction into our strongest asset, our monthly programs.
The presentation focused on the recent smuggling trends and what the Border Patrol is doing to combat these threats, as well as the responsibilities of the San Clemente Station regarding these threats. He also talked about the collaborative efforts with other agencies to combat smuggling, particularly in the maritime environment.
Our next Meeting will be May 15, with the social at 6:00 PM, dinner at 7:00 and the presentation at 7:45. The location remains the Lake Forest Holiday Inn at 23131Lake Center Drive. Guest are welcome at $30 per person. Reservations can be made through Rick or Trisha Karoly at RjKaroly@yahoo.com .
