Not so long ago, there was a popular band playing the Southland called Sometimes Mensa (that was us). Apparently the holders of the trademark "MENSA" (that organization of people whose admission whoes evidently hinges on a very high IQ) discovered us in a routine sweep of the internet and Facbook. We were advised that we had to apply to them for official permission to us "MENSA" in our name or cease and desist using it. We chose to cease and desist and have embraced "Whatever" as our new name - reflection our super-wide variety of music, our willingness to take on virtually any gig or audience as well as friendly by somewhat flippant retort to those humor-free MENSA folk!
