Time is Running Out: Batteries for Birds Deadline is December 13th

“We’re entering the final week of our Batteries for Birds campaign,” says Jack Levenson, co-owner of The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest. “During this time, we donate 100% of the revenues from watch battery sales to South County Outreach. They use the money raised to help feed local families through the holiday season. Last year, Batteries for Birds generated more than $2,100. This year we hope to top that – but we need your help.”

“There are two ways you can help,” says Christine Anzell, co-owner. “The first is to come in and have your watch battery replaced. It’s something that needs to be done periodically anyway – once a year is best, to make sure you’re never stuck with a dead battery! – and it’s very affordable.” Prices for watch batteries start around $10. “It’s quick and simple. We’ll change your battery while you wait. And then all of that money – every penny! – goes to South County Outreach.”

“The other way to help us is to let your family, friends, co-workers and colleagues know about Batteries for Birds,” Anzell added. “None of us can change the problems our community is facing on our own, but if we all work together, we can make a real positive difference. So we’re asking everyone to share the details. For the remainder of this week, until December 13th, one hundred percent of all watch battery revenue goes to South County Outreach. It’s a great deal for everyone – men, women, anyone who wears a watch! – as well as the local families who really benefit from having this food made available to them. No one should be hungry during the holidays!”
