What can be accomplished by our politicians to help our struggling businesses? First, we must reform, flatten, and simplify the corporate tax code in order to allow businesses to grow and hire. We have one of the highest corporate tax rates on the planet, but one filled with loopholes, deductions, and credits that favor crony capitalism and special interests. For American businesses to compete globally, we must level the tax playing field. Second, reduce the job-killing regulations that do so much to hamstring American businesses. From the Obama Administration’s ‘War on Coal,’ to the labyrinthine Dodd-Frank financial regulation bill, hundreds of thousands of new pages of regulatory code have taken our economy hostage with red tape. Finally, repeal Obamacare and allow companies to hire full-time employees without unaffordable mandates. Deductibles and premiums are skyrocketing across the nation and ever-more Americans are being dumped from their employer health plans as a direct result of Obamacare. Even unions are fed up with the bill. The time has come to clean up this mess! After more than four years of the president’s active stifling of the American economy, it’s long past due to elect sensible, pro-growth conservatives who will work to end this big-government debacle. As a candidate for California’s 45th Congressional District in 2014, I am that pro-growth conservative who will work with business to lessen the burden that our federal government have placed on them.
