Veterans Park Construction On Schedule

Despite some hiccups, we're still on schedule

I toured Village Pond Park with the City’s Chief Engineer and Director of Public Works, Tom Wheeler. The construction is proceeding on schedule despite a few problems already noted (break of AT&T line, slab link from adjoining home). The new park (re-named Veterans Park) will be opened by mid 2018.

I was surprised to see how deep the pond was. It is 14 feet at the deepest (see picture). When you look at the size and depth of the water it looks more like a “lake” than a “pond”. When I was there, the dirt was still so wet that I sunk in and had to proceed no further.
