City Offers $1,000 College Scholarship For Best Essay
College-bound students who live in Lake Forest can win scholarship money in an essay contest. Second- and third-place submissions will also get prize money.

High school seniors have until March 12 to submit an original essay about Lake Forest for a chance at winning money to offset college bills.
In honor of , the city of Lake Forest is offering scholarships to the top three essay writers who submit an original essay about a favorite Lake Forest memory, and a vision of what the city will be like 20 years in the future.
First place wins $1,000; second place, $750; third, $500. Money is to go toward educational expenses.

Students must answer the following prompt:
Using the city motto “Remember the Past, Challenge the Future,” write an original essay about your favorite Lake Forest memory and how you think Lake Forest will change 20 years from now in the year 2032. You are encouraged to portray your memory vividly (you may add pictures if you like), and to communicate a clear vision of what Lake Forest will be like in the future.

The contest is open to all graduating seniors who live in Lake Forest and plan to attend a post-secondary educational institute this fall.
Essays need to be 750 words or fewer, single-spaced, in 14-point Times New Roman. Students must include their name in the header of each page and staple all pages together, including a completed and signed entry form.
To be eligible, essays must be either submitted by mail (postmarked by deadline) or delivered to: The City of Lake Forest, Attn: Community Services, Essay Contest 25550 Commercentre Dr., Suite 100, Lake Forest, CA 92630 by March 12.
