Why does Councilman Adam Nick say racial slurs and make racial comments?

After finding a bunch of YouTube videos of Adam Nick, I have decided to write a series on Councilman Adam Nick in his own words. Here is the list of videos:

Background

Based on the above list, Adam Nick has apparently shown a propensity for saying or taking positions outside of mainstream Lake Forest. When he lied about being a CPA, I was appalled because this does not represent the city where I live.

It also truly amazes me that this guy is an elected official - and he is running for re-election?

N-Word - September 6, 2016
Councilman Adam Nick: "What racial slur? I said 'N-word, what is that?' It is not in my vocabulary - [ACTUAL N-WORD] is not. I actually had to think about it. Oh, you are talking about Michael Richards what he said. That is Kramer [character from the Seinfeld television show] in case you don't know who Michael Richards is. I was born elsewhere post-racial segregation."

Councilman Adam Nick says the actual N-word less than a month ago at a Lake Forest City Council meeting on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, (can be viewed on the city's website at http://agenda2009.city-lakefor... and advance to 4:17:30).

Since Adam Nick is quite knowledgable about this issue when he mentions Michael Richards, it is safe to assume that he knows that saying the N-word is not acceptable in any venue.

It is also quite obvious that Mr. Nick knows all about the "N-word" since he references Michael Richards. But he tries to make it sound like he doesn't know when he asks "N-word, what is that?" and mentions he was born outside the United States. He just can't have it both ways - pretend he doesn't know the N-word but then mention about it's use in our society.

"Hanging" - March 4, 2014
Councilman Adam Nick: "I am looking for a second council member to join me in a consensus - which would have been 3 council people had Peter Herzog had been here - to initiate a discussion about modeling a code of ethics that has teeth, a code of ethics that I can take to the District Attorney and prosecute my colleagues. Basically, I want to be able to hang people here if they break it. I want it to have teeth."

Hang his colleagues? Mr. Nick uses the word "hanging" while the first African American mayor of Orange County, Kathryn McCullough, was sitting just a couple seats away. Adam Nick has to know that this use of "hanging" would have a intimidating effect on Kathryn. Shame on him!

"Muzzle" - June 3, 2014

Councilman Adam Nick: "I reserve a half hour madam, I reserve 2 hours because at least I make sense, unlike you. Put a muzzle on her - put a muzzle on her, Dwight."

Kathryn McCullough - "Mayor, he just violated our code [of ethics]. Your'e going to need to get that under control."

Councilman David Bass: "Call for a recess."

Here is another example of Mr. Nick intimidating Kathryn McCullough, was sitting just a couple seats away. Adam Nick has to know that this use of "muzzle" would be considered racist.

Summary

Councilman Adam Nick uses racially charged language - not once and not twice. And he also used the N-word within the last 30 days.

Beside the horrible racial overtones, does anyone see the irony here? Here is someone who can't follow the current code of ethics (I assume toward civility) who is then trying to amend it. Recommendation to Adam Nick - follow the current code of ethics before wanting to change it.

I MIGHT give someone a pass for one slip-up, but then to have them continue building their racist comments until they say the N-word (less than 30 days ago) upsets me. And Adam Nick is running for City Council this fall.

I have concluded that Lake Forest Councilman Adam Nick appears to be a racist and we, the residents of Lake Forest, deserve better.
