Woman, 79, 'Critically Missing' After Discharged From Hospital In OC

LAKE FOREST, CA — The Orange County Sheriff's Department sought the public's help Monday in finding a missing 79-year-old woman who was last seen Wednesday, Jan. 18 in Lake Forest.

Resident Phong Nguyen was last seen by her daughter near the area of Lake Forest Drive and Aspan Street in the City of Lake Forest.

At some point that same day, authorities said Phong was taken to a local hospital and discharged at 10:36 p.m. Monday night. Her whereabouts are currently unknown.

Phong was described as a 79-year-old Asian woman who stands at five feet tall and weighs roughly 110 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a white beanie and dark clothing.

She only speaks Vietnamese, and does not speak or understand English, authorities said. She also does not have a cell phone or credit cards.
