Woman Freed From Overturned Car In Irvine Thanks To OC Firefighters
The woman's vehicle was pinned against a power pole and balanced on top of a drainage ditch when firefighters arrived, authorities said.

IRVINE, CA — Orange County firefighters pulled off a methodical technical rescue to free a woman who was trapped in her car Monday.
Firefighters were dispatched to the northbound 405 Freeway just past the 133 Freeway in Irvine early Monday morning at around 6 a.m.

Upon arriving, firefighters found that the woman's vehicle was pinned against a power pole and balancing on top of a drainage ditch, authorities said.

After stabilizing the car, firefighters used hydraulic tools to carefully rescue the woman from the vehicle. She was treated and taken to a local trauma center. Her identity is not known.

"This was a well-coordinated rescue involving Truck 20, Heavy Rescue 6, Technical Rescue Truck 56, Engine 51, & Battalion 10," an Orange County Fire Authority spokesperson said. "Thank you to the nearby construction crew who called 911 and came to her aid."
